Firefly Investigation - Mike Bickle and IHOPKC
This confidential survey is part of an independent investigation related to past allegations of misconduct by Mike Bickle and other leaders at the International House of Prayer in Kansas City (IHOPKC) and a review of the responses by the IHOPKC to such allegations. The purpose of this survey is to 1) collect any relevant information consistent with the scope of this investigation and 2) assist FIREFLY in identifying individuals who may have pertinent information that we could contact to schedule follow-up interviews relevant to this investigation. Please know that the information provided by survey respondents within the survey itself may be used in the Executive Summary provided to Tikkun Global. However, the names of survey respondents shall be kept strictly confidential. It will not be voluntarily disclosed to Tikkun Global or IHOPKC, or any third party without the written permission of the individual survey respondent.
Scope of the Investigation:
FIREFLY will conduct an independent investigation into allegations of sexually abusive misconduct[1] by Mike Bickle in his association with the International House of Prayer, Kansas City, MO (hereinafter referred to as IHOPKC) from 1999 to the present, and others in leadership at IHOPKC during that time—and whether there were systemic patterns of behavior within the IHOPKC leadership that contributed to any abuse (if the abuse is confirmed). FIREFLY shall also investigate the cover-up of any allegation of sexual abuse/misconduct connected with IHOPKC that was reported to IHOPKC leadership between 1999 and the present. This shall include how IHOPKC leadership responded to such allegations brought to them and how incorrect responses negatively affected victims.
Note: We will not investigate consensual sexual relations between students and interns.
[1] FIREFLY will take a wider view of sexual abuse and sexually abusive misconduct to include not only abuse within the historically-narrow understanding of those terms (sexual assault and battery without consent) but also to include physical and nonphysical conduct that a person suffers, submits to, participates in, or performs due to the deception, manipulation, coercion, grooming (children and adults) and/or intimidation by another.
